Mr Fofana, 28, leader of a Paris gang known as The Barbarians8, is accused of carrying out the attack and faces life imprisonment9 if found guilty.
He entered the court wearing a white tracksuit(田径服,运动外套) and looked at Mr Halimi's relatives before shouting "Allahu akbar".
When the judge asked the defendant4 for his identity, he replied "African barbarian7 armed revolt(叛乱,反抗) salafist", referring to a strict Sunni Muslim movement.
