Chinese Xie-Zhang claim Macao Open Badminton title

Oct. 7 - China's Xie Zhongbo and Zhang Yawen claimed the Macao Badminton Open mixed doubles title by beating Fang1 Chieh-Min and Cheng Wen-Hsing of Chinese Taipei in Macao on Sunday.

 

The pair defeated the Chinese Taipei duo 21-14, 21-16 in 40 minutes.

 

After tied at 12-12 in the opening game, Xie and Zhang had 6 points in a row to take the game with 21-14.

 

Leading 7-5 in the second game, the Chinese pair never looked back again and ran to the final victory2 with 21-16.

 

Xie was delighted to gain the first title here.

 

"I feel excited as I never won a title here in Macao," said Xie, "I think that we are equally3 strong players and we won because we are a little bit mentally4 stronger today."
