Sept. 15 - The Chinese Football Association1 (CFA) on Friday afternoon officially announced it has signed a one-year contract with Vladimir Petrovic Pizon to make the Serbian executive2 head coach of China's national men's soccer team.

 

The contract term will run from September 14, 2007 to September 30, 2008. The salary for the new coach is not disclosed3, the news portal Sina.com.cn reports. Pizon becomes the fifth foreign coach of China's national men's soccer team.

 

Petrovic, 52, replaced Zhu Guanghu, who was sacked last month following the national team's disappointing performance at the Asian Cup.

 

Ratomir Dujkovi will serve as the manager of both the national and Olympic teams, the report says.

 

Pizon will begin his job on September 24 when the national team will begin a three-day training traveling by air. The new coach's main responsibilities include lead the national team play in the Asian world cup qualifying4 games.

 

China will play against Myanmar in the first leg of the first-round qualification in Fushan, Guangdong, on Oct. 21.
