China tries to attract more overseas students to come back

Chinanews, Nanjing, Aug. 28 - China has always tried to attract its overseas students to come back. Up to 2006, China had set up some 130 scientific institutes for these students, 31 of them in Beijing.

 

Prof. Zhang Zengfang came back to China and stayed in one of such institutes in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous1 Region. His project on traffic control system has won several awards.

 

Zhang also believes that China needs many of these scientific personnel from abroad. According to the Ministry2 of Education, the number of Chinese students studying abroad has reached 1 million, and many of them have chosen to return to carve out their career in their home country.
