Chinanews, Guangzhou, Aug. 1 – Ancient-style furniture has become popular in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province since this summer, with more and more people getting rich in Guangzhou, and many of them believe such furniture can show off their fortune and social status.

 

Our reporter has learned from a furniture shop in Guangzhou that although the price of ancient-style furniture is rising, there are still many people hoping to purchase it. Some investors1 have also started collecting such furniture, and compared with the current stock market, the ancient-style furniture market is also hot.

 

Ms. Wu, an ancient-style furniture fan, said that as people’s life quality is improving, and they think it’s important to buy such furniture to decorate their new houses. While other collectors believe buying expensive antique2 furniture that can show China’s culture is understandable. They said that now it’s hard to buy furniture made in the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911), so ancient-style furniture has become their crucial collections.
