When our reporter visited Wolong Temple, he found there were crowds of visitors, most of them adults. “My child is about to take college entrance exam, and I come here to pray to Buddha for his blessing2 on my child,” one mother said. Her daughter is currently studying in a high school in Xi’an.

 

Mr. Liu said his child was also going to take the exam, and he also felt the pressure. Liu revealed that he came here to find an outlet3 to his worries.

 

An official from Xi'an Education Bureau said that students need to study hard if they want to be enrolled4 by prestigious5 universities. “Seeking Buddha's help is not necessary,” he said.
