First soccer theme park to be built

Chinanews, Shenyang, April 29 - The first soccer theme park will be built in the Dongling District of Shenyang in Liaoning Province, where the bronze statues of 30 outstanding soccer stars and those who have made great contributions to the development of soccer will be put up.

 

The park will cover approximately some 270 thousand sq m, and the Dongling District Government has absorbed 23 million yuan of investment1 to build it.

 

Soccer fans will be able to enjoy themselves thoroughly2 free of charge in the park when it is completed in 2009. No extra entrance fee will be charged even when a soccer match is held there.

 

The most attractive features of the park are the 2 standard soccer pitches and several 7-player soccer pitches. With them, the park will be able to host professional matches for nearly 100 players at a time.

 

Training equipment, of course, will be included, too. There will even be special pitches for kids.
