Chinanews, Shanghai, Mar1. 3 – A taxi driver in Shanghai charged a Swedish tourist 1,480 yuan for a 110-yuan journey, which aroused a great deal of public concern.

 

When this tourist arrived in Shanghai on the morning of February 28, he took a taxi (HuE-V0146) to a hotel. The driver charged him 1,480 yuan, and gave him a fake receipt, claiming that the fee included 1,200 yuan of carfare and 280 yuan of tax. However, the tourist raised his complaint as soon as he reached the hotel.

 

Now, the driver has been fired, and the tourist has got his cheated money back, and an extra 2,740 yuan as compensation. The taxi company also sent a bundle of flower to him in token of apology.
