Put one's foot down 拒绝

It means to say no, say you cannot do that, no way  When the kids ask if they can go to a restricted movie, I put my foot down.  Note: Put one's foot down的意思是拒绝，对...说不 例：当孩子们询问是否能观看限制级电影的时候，我断然拒绝了。
