Chinanews, Beijing, Feb. 15 – All the parks and other tourism resorts in Beijing are planning to restore traditional way of celebrating the Spring Festival (Lunar New Year). For example, Biyun Temple on Fragrance2 Mountain will have its bells tolled for the first time ever on Lunar New Year's Eve, to pray for good luck for all Beijingers.
Beijing Municipal Park Administration says that they will give full support the park making the most of their cultural and historical background, especially in the celebration of the Spring Festival. The bell of Biyun Temple can be heard all over Beijing, and it will keep ringing from 23:30 on Lunar New Year's Eve to 00:30, to envelop3 Beijing in a rare classical atmosphere of celebration. Besides Biyun Temple, the Summer Palace will put 4 “lucky drums” at the north gate, and visitors can beat the drum to their heart's content. There will also be a traditional folk art show to bring visitors back to the royal garden of the Qing Dynasty. The staff members of the park will wear traditional clothes that day, to complete the cultural scene. Beihai Park will offer a series of “lucky services”, in which visitors can pray for their fortune through various “lucky activities”, including praying in the temple, watching lucky charms, listening to lucky music, picking lucky flowers, etc. It can be estimated that this innovative4 way of performing New Year prayers will give novel experience to Beijingers.
